February 20, 2016 News Windows

In October 2015, Microsoft made us believed that Windows 10 Mobile will rolled out for older devices. That has not happened. Again, the Washington-based company stated once again that the roll out would begin early in 2016.

Although there have been a couple or reports that some Windows phones have begin to receive the update. Even a French company career is reported to have stated that the roll out will be this January. The same company seems to have shifted gear by saying the rollout will be next month.

The Lumia 640 specific to Europe was first rumored to be getting the Windows 10 update. And even the career, T-mobile for Poland was reported to have confirmed the build number of the software update. The same company T-mobile for Germany has reported that some Lumia handsets were eligible for update.

A new report has stated that Microsoft has indeed confirmed that there has been delay. And that its monthly service update for its 950 XL and Lumia 950 smartphones is delayed. Both update have been touted to be around mid-February this year. There is no report nor has Microsoft confirmed specific dates for these updates.

Earlier reports have hinted some of the older devices that will be eligible when the update is ready. The Lumia 640 XL, Lumia 830, Lumia 930, Lumia 535, Lumia 635, and Lumia 640 LTE will be among the devices that will be getting the update.

The firmware update will be in batches. So, there may be some devices yet to be listed for eligibility. The device listed above and the other devices that will be listed subsequently in this article are going to be in the first batch. Therefore, if your device is not currently in this list, you can wait for the next batch. It is likely that your device will be added on the next batch.

Other devices that have been reported to be in this batch include the following smartphones:
